Meet Dr. Dao Pham, DDS
Dr. Dao Pham was born in Vietnam but grew up in Houston, TX. After receiving a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, Dr. Pham decided to change course and pursue dentistry. Dr. Pham is a proud graduate of Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree and possesses a calm chairside presence.
Dr. Pham is passionate about his continuing education, consistently logging over a hundred of hours continuing education credits annually although dental licensing boards require only 12 CE credit hours. He was inspired to pursue a dental career after arriving to the United States in 1994 from Vietnam - a country where people rarely go to the dentist except for the removal of a tooth.
In his spare time, Dr. Pham enjoys listening to NPR, outdoor cycling and reading. Dr. Pham comes from a family with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. One of his older sisters is a retired operator of a convenience store/gas station in Galveston, TX, while his other older sister is a health inspector for the city of Phoenix. His younger brothers are a Houston-based lawyer and a plastic surgeon based in Arizona, while his sister-in-law is also a dentist.
Dr. Pham is also an absolute fanatic about Sci-Fi movies. He and his wife share three children, including Lucas (named for Luke Skywalker from Star Wars) and Samantha (named for Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1). His youngest daughter Alexandra was specifically not named after a Sci-Fi characters as Dr. Pham's wife had enough of those! According to his wife, Dr. Pham has a corny sense of humor. His children often remind him when he makes a particularly glaring dad joke!
